COVID-19 Update – March 17, 2020

We have received notice from the Archdiocese that effective immediately, all parish activities are to be suspended.

We will have daily mass on Wednesday March 18th only at 7AM and 8:45AM. After that all DAILY MASS IS SUSPENDED/CANCELLED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.

The Thursday evening mass on February 19th in honor of St. Joseph is cancelled.

The parish office closed at the end of the day on March 17th and will remain closed.

The church will be open for private prayer each day as it usually is, however, individuals are reminded to maintain a prudent distance from one another while in the church. The lower church will be open on weekdays from 7AM until 4PM  and on Saturday the lower church will be open from 8AM until 12 noon, and the upper church will be open from 12 noon until 6PM.

On Sundays, the church will be opened from 7:45AM until 1:30PM.

Individual Confession will be available on Saturdays from 4 – 4:45PM as always, but please keep a prudent distance from one another.

Until further notice, communion to the homebound is suspended.

If you need a priest in an emergency, the emergency number is 201-696-2819 or you may call the parish office and you will be directed to the emergency number.

Please pray for one another during these trying times.

A Proactive Response to COVID-19

Linked below is the announcement from the Archdiocese of Newark regarding masses this weekend and moving forward. You are invited to read the letter from Cardinal Tobin regarding mass obligations during this difficult time. Daily morning mass will continue to be celebrated at the regular times, including Saturday March 14th at 8:30AM. The church will remain open for private prayer all day Saturday. Confession will be available at the normal time on March 14th – from 4-4:45PM.

On Sunday March 15th, the church will be open from 7AM to 1:30PM for personal prayer. There will be no masses celebrated on Sunday.

Beginning Monday, we will have daily masses at the normal times of 7AM and 8:45AM. We ask you to keep those who are directly affected by Covid-19 virus in your prayers.
