Welcome Letter from Fr. Pat
I am grateful for this opportunity to introduce myself as the newest member of St. Mary’s Parish and also to bring my reflections to the bulletin this week.
My journey began not far from here in Ridgewood where I spent my early days in Mt. Carmel Parish. I attended St Joseph Regional HS and then attended Seton Hall and Darlington Seminary in Mahwah. I was ordained in 1975 and assigned to St. Bridget’s Parish as parochial vicar and four years later I became a Pastor. I also served on the Seminary faculty, as Pastor of Sacred Heart Parish in Vailsburg, Newark, and Administrator of Holy Trinity in Hackensack for ten years. Most recently I was assigned to St. Mary’s Parish in Elizabeth until the Archdiocese suggested that I retire.
College Student Blessing Set for Aug. 4

All college bound and current college students who are active in ministry here at St. Mary’s are invited to join with us at the 10 a.m. Mass on Aug. 4 for a blessing and then join us for breakfast immediately following.
A small way for us to say thank you for your ministry. Please call the parish office to let us know you are coming!
Buy Raffle Tickets and Save Our Sound!

A Lucky Weeks Club raffle ticket costs $20 only and gives 21 chances to win – 17 weekly drawings for $50 each starting Sept 4, 2013, and 4 drawings for $150 each on Simbang Gabi, Dec. 20, 2013. Winning tickets are returned to the pool and thus get a chance to win again. All drawings will be held at Szelest Hall at 7:30 p.m. Winners need not be present.
