It’s Carnival Week!

St. Mary’s is getting ready to bring fun to the families of Dumont. The annual carnival will run from Wednesday June 8th through Saturday June 11th.. It will be open from 6-10PM on Wednesday & Thursday, from 6-10:30PM on Friday, and from 1-5PM and 6:30-11PM on Saturday.

The major rides include The Gravitron, Ferris wheel, Screamer, Octopus, Merry-Go-Round, Car combo, Tea cup, Apple, Helicopter and of course, the slide. Filling out the rest of the midway will be various games for “kids” of all ages. Tickets will be available in the ticket booth on Park Avenue. Pay-one-price bands, valid for rides only, will be available for Wednesday evening and Saturday afternoon sessions.
We do have a few “no” rules – no smoking on the carnival grounds, no dogs or other leashed animals, no skateboards and no bicycles.
To make the evenings easy on the family, have dinner at the carnival! Enjoy a variety of typical carnival fare including hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken fingers, fries and sausage & pepper sandwiches. Continuing the tradition of offering ethnic foods, Italian specialties will be available on Thursday evening and Filipino treats on Friday night. Hot and cold beverages, zeppoles, Italian ices and pretzels will round out the offerings.
Live entertainment is scheduled nightly. On Wednesday evening, Dave and Margie will perform easy listening. On Thursday night, Dumont’s own Dead Ringers will have the stage. On Friday, White Lotus, featuring the Magno boys will perform, and on Saturday evening, Outside the Lines will fill the lot with rock!
If you’re looking for a safe and family oriented place for your family to enjoy a good time without having to travel, take the family to St. Mary’s carnival at the intersection of Washington & New Milford Avenues.
If you want to follow the carnival more closely, search for the “St. Mary’s Carnival” group on Facebook and ask to join.
